Day 1 — pickup at Mohammed V Airport, on-site registration and the opening reception.

    Welcome team meets international participants at Mohammed V Airport (Casablanca) and accompanies them to their accommodation.

    Check-in at the venue, badges and welcome packs handed out, followed by a Moroccan tea & pastries networking reception starting at 20:00.

Phase 2 · Academic Program

Eight days of seminars and team workshops

Days 2–9 — every morning a seminar with university and guests, every afternoon a hands-on workshop applied to the final project.

    Interdisciplinary, international groups of 4–5 students are formed. Each team chooses a name and a visual identity for the entire Program.

    Opening keynote

    Digital Transformation of Society — promises, risks and responsibilities. What does digital transformation really mean for societies, economies and individuals? The ethics of technology.

    Mapping the landscape

    Each team produces a collaborative mind-map of the summer school's key themes, then presents it for discussion and synthesis with the facilitators.

    Data, privacy & digital rights

    Who owns your data? How personal data became the world's most valuable resource. Foundations of GDPR-style and Moroccan Law 09-08 protections.

    Data privacy audit

    Each team picks a service they use daily (social network, e-commerce, health app) and runs a structured audit: what is collected, how it is used, what rights users have.

    AI & algorithmic ethics

    AI in everyday life — healthcare, education, hiring, banking, justice. Frameworks for responsible AI: the EU AI Act and emerging Moroccan guidelines.

    AI Ethics Charter

    Each team drafts a short AI Ethics Charter for a fictional organisation in their field, balancing utility, fairness and accountability.

    Digital governance & sovereignty

    Seminar on digital governance — actors, mechanisms and stakes. Sovereignty, infrastructure, multilateral standards.

    Regulatory simulation

    Role-play exercise: teams take on the role of regulator, tech platform, civil-society NGO, journalist and citizen, and negotiate a piece of legislation.

    Education, work and the city in the digital age — case studies and cross-sector evidence.

    Teams refine and develop their final project with one-on-one support from the facilitators.

    The environmental cost of digital tech

    Energy, water, rare-earth materials, e-waste and climate. The hidden footprint of cloud computing, AI training and consumer electronics.

    Designing for inclusion

    Workshop: each team redesigns a digital product or service to make it more accessible and inclusive for an underserved group (elderly, people with disabilities, low-bandwidth users…).

  8. Day 9 · Wed 29 JulDemo day

    Final project presentations

    Each team presents their project to a jury composed of academic professors, a practitioner from the digital sector, and a representative of the Summer School scientific committee.
